Re: New excavator project

So we are making progress, its now all painted and being asembled. A couple of problems (arent there always). I am pretty suere that this is an upgraded kit, not sure how but the motor looks larger than in the original lesu pics and I have servos for all 6 hydraulic ports. That does mean that there ...

Re: New excavator project

At last the paint arrived. This came from Motornuts looks good for car spray but not for models IMHO I wont use them again. Also took 14 days to get the paint, they say they are busy, dont answer phones auto response to emails! I will use onestopeaerosols though. loved them and the spray head is adj...

Re: Trailer Power legs.

If you are fitting a beier trailer system then it's easy enough to use that for the legs but it is a 3 volt motor so use an ESC at low speed , add suppression to the motor and a ferrite ring to the receiver lead.

Re: Fury Bear Broshuis heavy haul trailer

The neck unit is the most complex and the SM-IR-16-2 will not fit whats there currently so I have built a box. You cant have a pic as its in the shed being clearcoated! You'll get the idea though. How to fit it all ? A bit of judicious exploring. The cover for the existing electronics comes off, as ...

Re: Fury Bear Broshuis heavy haul trailer

So we have a few wires now and the trailer is in 3 parts. The 10 way cable has IDC connectors attached - sockets on the outboard side so as to avoid possible sorts. The marker lights use discrete 4 way wires and connect via a 5 way 2.54mm pitch plug and socket. Now its getting a bit busy as there ar...

Re: Fury Bear Broshuis heavy haul trailer

Next is the marker lights, I used the DMW 114-2 markers 9 sets! I plan on using the Beier sm-ir-16-2 infrared module to control the lights and it got several options for markers apart from running them from an existing output:- 1 channel rotating lamp - it simulaters this by a constant rise and fall...

Fury Bear Broshuis heavy haul trailer

So I bought this trailer, its got 7 axles all of which steer and steering can be set. You can stretch it. The battery is supposed to fit in the scale locker at the front but the battery you can get in there will not last long if you are driving around a lot. Its got no lights and the printed cover f...

Re: New excavator project

Thanks yes, thecounterweight weighs a ton! Mostly been painting but also a couple of update pics. excavator 5.jpg You can see here that the tracks are on. That was a battle. I think you are supposed to wind the tension spring in then wrap the track and insert the pin. The track is a bit unwieldy and...
